LG Electronics LG840

Go beyond the usual mobile experience with the LG840, LG Spyder II. It's a touch screen slider with next generation, progressive user interface and a large 3" touch screen for real power and performance. Plus, a full QWERTY keyboard makes messaging fast and easy. Enjoy stereo sound, Bluetooth capabilities and a 3 MP camera/camcorder.

Pros: Features/Settings, easy to use, Style/Design
Have had this phone for a few weeks now. Love the way it's set up. I think it's easy to figure out! Like the qwerty keyboard a lot and is easy to text on!! Love how the numbers have their own row on the keyboard!!!!! The big problems I have had is for 1 the battery is not good. Dealer told me probably because it's a smart phone but I charge it all night and still have to charge it 2-3 more times throughout the day. Not sure if that is normal though since I've never owned a smartphone before. If you buy the phone definitely buy a car charger to keep it plugged in if you're out! another problem I have had is that I can't get picture texts to go through at all. I have tried several times but cant get it to work and I have the unlimited txt and pic plan. Also sometimes the touch screen seems to react slow. I have to touch it 4 or 5 times sometimes to get it to respond. Have adjusted the sensitivity but still have the problem. Kind of bummed about these problems because honestly I LOVE the phone. I like all the different options, its easy to use, takes great pics. I'ts also a very sharp looking phone!!!!!! Just still a little unsure about it though!!!

Battery eater
onMay 3, 2011
The phone is eating the battery and slow to respond because the processor is busy chasing its own operating system tail. You probably have a bad OS load or the signal strenght in your area is low and it is jumping to analog (a real killer). Take the phone back. have them swap out battery first to see if symptoms change, if not swap out phone. I had this same problem with an lg840. Swapped phone, now all good. Just had a lemon. The carrier worked valiently with me to help troubleshoot the problem. it was just a bad phone.

"A excellent phone!"
PostedDecember 9, 2009
Pros: Quality, Features/Settings, easy to use, Performance, Style/Design
This is a solid phone that I just got today from Celluar South and I love it! Even my mom (who is not into cell phones) thinks this phone is great! LOTS of features, takes great pictures and video. And it's pretty easy to use for the younger crowd. But for the older groups you might want to think about getting a different phone if you want to simply make calls and text every now and then. Other than that great job LG!

This phone rocks and it is much cooler then said other phones with touch screens. Full QWERTY is great for fast texting.
